Visited A1 foods again go every 3 months as I live far, usually have a good experience, Carmine and the brothers are always friendly and polite, how ever the lady behind the cheese counter was rude and acted like she did not want to be there. When I asked for a certain cheese saying I couldn’t see it, she answered “it’s right in front of you “ in a very rude way, then weighed it and handed it to me without saying a word, her customer service skills are non existent. A polite how can I help? Or what would you like would have suffices.less
Disgusting customer service. I was told I could exchange some olives my husband bought the day before when I rang up over the phone and spoke to the owner. The olives were totally soft and mushy and just not right. The lady that served me was rude and said there's nothing wrong with the olives and started making some excuses about them absorbing oil and becoming soft. She refused to exchange or return my items and conveniently the manager in the back had changed his mind about giving me an exchange what a wasted journey! Never go back here again lost a customer and btw half their stuff is out of date or they accidentally overcharge you. Don't waste your money here guys. less
Love this place. The carne piccante pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever had. Made with love! Cheeses are superb too. I’m a regular visitor and when I read the negative review about ‘The owner’, it makes me laugh. He’s a great guy trying to make an export living in the post Brexit climate. Any of the Clivie brand wines are superb. Lovely family - Just choose carefully who you ask for a bulk discount. ;-)less
We went to buy some Italian products in this place and everything was passed the expired date. I mentioned this to the owner who started to yell at me in a very aggressive way saying: 'this is my place and I set my rules. If you don't like it go away. In the UK I am allowed to sell expired products. I label what has expired so you need to look at the dates before buying them. If you buy them it is your only fault not mine.' I replied that not all the expired products clearly show that they were expired. Products are intentionally put not in order, to cause confusion, everything is very dirty and has broken packages. This is a horrible place. Yelling at me he scared my daughter too who cried thinking that man wanted to hit me. Do not go to this place and don't take your kids there.less
We now use this place regularly, (monthly) they have everything Italian you need, I do get abit carried away ???????????? pastas, meats, cakes, vegetables, sauces, jars of things I.e chillis, peppers alsorts! They also do wait for it……PIZZA to takeaway ???????? very very nice and priced very well. Friendly guys who own it, well I think they own it ???? The only fault I have with this place is that I spend too much money!!!! ???????? I love it , best Italian shop I know.less
